Tinubu Calls for Stronger Global Action Against Insecurity

President Bola Tinubu has called for stronger national and international cooperation to tackle emerging security threats in Nigeria and other parts of the world.

Tinubu said Nigeria was facing multifaceted security challenges that required coordinated and sustainable responses from governments, international organisations, religious leaders and other stakeholders.

The President spoke in Abuja at an international security conference organised by Jama’atu Izalatil Bidiah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria) in partnership with the Muslim World League of Saudi Arabia.

Represented by Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, Tinubu said his administration remained committed to working with other countries and international organisations to build a safer Nigeria and contribute to global security.

He urged participants to develop practical recommendations that would complement government efforts to tackle insecurity.

Meanwhile, APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda called on religious leaders to make churches and mosques centres of peace, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.

Yilwatda warned against using religion and ethnicity to incite violence or deepen divisions, urging clerics and political leaders to promote unity and dialogue.

He also cautioned Nigerians against sharing information capable of inflaming religious and ethnic tensions.
