The United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has confirmed that 110 Nigerians are among hundreds of West African nationals slated for deportation as part of an ongoing immigration enforcement operation.

According to the agency, a total of 355 individuals from West African countries have been listed for removal over alleged immigration violations, including visa overstays, unlawful entry, and failure to comply with residency requirements.

Nigeria recorded the second-highest number on the list with 110 individuals, behind Liberia with 94. Other affected countries include Ghana, Senegal, Cameroon, The Gambia, Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Cape Verde, Burkina Faso, Niger, Guinea, Togo, Mali, Benin, and Guinea-Bissau.

US authorities described the exercise as a coordinated operation carried out across multiple states, targeting individuals found to be in violation of immigration laws.

The development forms part of broader efforts by US immigration authorities to enforce compliance with existing immigration regulations and address cases involving undocumented residents.
