Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has announced that workers in the state will receive a N10,000 salary top-up for three months.
Makinde made the announcement on Monday at an event held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
He said the intervention was introduced to cushion the effects of the fuel price hike and will take effect from April, with the possibility of an extension if the situation persists.
According to the governor, all workers in the Oyo State civil service and local government system will receive an additional N10,000 monthly as petrol and transportation support during the initial three-month period.
He explained that the payment would be made at a flat rate to all eligible workers.
Makinde also indicated that people outside the state government workforce may benefit from the initiative, adding that the process would be properly managed to ensure inclusiveness.
He further stated that as his administration nears its end, one of his major priorities is to ensure continuity.QT Places Error: the selected post type doesn't exists or is not active in the plugin settings.
