Justice Bamidele Fola Adeyeye of the Ondo State High Court has passed away.
His death was announced in a statement issued in Akure by the Chief Registrar of the Ondo State High Court, Mr Ayodeji Akinsanya.
According to the statement, Justice Adeyeye died on Thursday, March 12, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, integrity and commitment to the administration of justice.
Describing his passing as a painful loss to the judiciary, the statement noted that the late jurist served with distinction and remained devoted to upholding the rule of law throughout his years on the bench.
Justice Adeyeye was widely regarded as a respected member of the judiciary whose work was characterised by fairness, sound judgment and deep knowledge of the law. His contributions to the legal profession and the judicial system in Ondo State earned him admiration from colleagues on the bench, members of the bar and the general public.
During his time as a judge, he was known for his calm disposition, humility and strong commitment to justice. Those who worked closely with him often described him as a principled jurist who approached every case with diligence and impartiality.
The Ondo State Judiciary said his death represents a significant loss not only to the judicial system but also to the state and the country at large, noting that his impact on the legal profession and the pursuit of justice would not be forgotten.
Justice Adeyeye began his journey in the legal profession many years ago, building a reputation for professionalism and dedication to the law. Before his appointment to the bench, he had established a private law practice known as Fola Adeyeye & Co in Okitipupa, where he handled various legal matters and mentored younger lawyers in the profession.
His years in legal practice further strengthened his experience and prepared him for judicial service when he was later appointed as a judge of the Ondo State High Court. He was sworn in on September 8, 2011, marking the beginning of a judicial career that would span more than a decade.
Throughout his time on the bench, Justice Adeyeye handled numerous cases and was known for delivering well-reasoned judgments. His dedication to ensuring fairness and equity in the administration of justice earned him a reputation as a dependable and principled judge.
Born on January 16, 1961, the late jurist devoted much of his life to the legal profession and the service of society. His commitment to justice and the development of the judiciary left a lasting imprint on the legal landscape of Ondo State.
