President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday swore in five newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, the Chairman of the National Population Commission (NPC), and two commissioners during a brief ceremony held at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja.
The ceremony took place shortly before the commencement of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, with the President administering the oath of office in two batches.
The first batch comprised the five Permanent Secretaries:

Dr. John Chidiebere Ezeamama

Dr. Abdul Sule Usman Garba (North West)

Dr. Ishiyaku Musa Mohammed (North East)

Dr. Ukaire Binyerem Chigbowu (Abia State, South East)
President Tinubu also swore in the new Chairman of the National Population Commission, Aminu Yusuf, along with two commissioners of the agency, including Dr. Betara Tonga from Yobe State.
Following the ceremony, the Federal Executive Council observed a minute of silence in honour of Ambassador Joy Uche Ogwu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, who passed away at the age of 79.
The FEC meeting proceeded immediately after the observance, with Vice President Kashim Shettima, Secretary to the Government of the Federation Senator George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, ministers, and presidential advisers in attendance.
