Germany have appointed Jurgen Klopp as the new head coach of the national football team.

Klopp has signed a contract that will keep him in charge until the 2030 FIFA World Cup, taking over the role after leaving Liverpool in 2024.

The 59-year-old enjoyed a successful nine-year spell at Liverpool, winning six major trophies, including the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.

He replaces Julian Nagelsmann, whose tenure ended after Germany were eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the Round of 32 following a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.

Klopp reportedly reached an agreement to become Germany’s head coach on July 11 after talks held in New York.

The appointment marks Klopp’s first managerial role since departing Liverpool and signals the beginning of a new era for the four-time world champions as they prepare for future international competitions.
