Controversial street-hop artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has ignited fresh drama in the music industry after publicly criticising rapper and music executive, Olamide, for not signing him earlier in his career.

In a series of emotional posts shared on social media, the “Zazuu Zeh” crooner claimed that Olamide abandoned him at a crucial moment, insisting that the YBNL boss would one day regret not adding him to the label.

Portable expressed frustration over what he described as people trying to block his progress, maintaining that despite the setbacks, he has continued to rise through divine favour and the support of international collaborators.

“You will regret not signing me,” he wrote. “I believe in God, my phone and my data. Any disappointment is a blessing. Zazuu, I am blessed internationally. I get fan base.”

The singer, who has often credited UK rapper Skepta for uplifting his career, again celebrated the British artiste as a major turning point in his life.

“God bless Skepta, my helper wey carry me from where them stop. When my time comes you no fit stop me,” he added.

Continuing his outburst, Portable accused unnamed industry players of deliberately attempting to frustrate his growth. He suggested that his fight for his rights had caused certain people, including Olamide, to distance themselves from him.

“Olamide Baddo go regret why him no sign me or carry me alongside, just because I fight for my right,” he claimed. “God of Zazuu is coming for those blocking my way. I believe I can fly. Star no dey beg to shine.”

He went on to advise fans and upcoming artistes to love and support only those who genuinely reciprocate the gesture, adding that anyone who tries to tarnish his name before people who truly care about him will face dire consequences.

“Love who loves you. Support who supports you,” he said. “If you spoil me for people who love me, you go die young.”

Portable, known for his outspoken nature, has been involved in multiple controversies within the entertainment space. However, he has also enjoyed steady success, particularly after gaining international recognition through his collaborations and performances outside Nigeria.

Despite his criticisms, Olamide has been widely praised in the industry for helping many young artistes achieve mainstream success, including Fireboy DML, Lil Kesh, Adekunle Gold and others.

Portable’s remarks have sparked reactions across social media, with many observers divided between viewing the singer’s comments as another publicity move and others interpreting them as genuine frustration over missed opportunities.
