The Federal Government has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day celebration as “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”

In a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja, Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, explained that the theme highlights the importance of unity, teamwork, and patriotism among government bodies, the private sector, civil society, and every Nigerian citizen.

He said the theme reflects Nigeria’s strength and resilience since gaining independence in 1960. It also calls for building on past achievements while aiming higher under the country’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement added that all government agencies and partners should align their activities with this theme to spread its message throughout the nation.

Several events are planned as part of the Independence celebrations. These include a Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 26, an inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28, and a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, all to be held in Abuja.
