Barcelona captain Raphinha has reaffirmed his commitment to putting the club’s interests ahead of individual awards, insisting that team success remains his top priority despite growing Ballon d’Or attention.
The Brazilian forward made this known while discussing his future at the Spanish club following the signing of a contract extension that will keep him at Barcelona until 2030.
Raphinha expressed happiness over the new deal, adding that he hopes to end his professional career at the club, provided his fitness allows him to continue playing.
The 29-year-old has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring 15 goals in his first 10 La Liga appearances, further strengthening his reputation as one of Barcelona’s key players.
Despite his individual achievements, he dismissed suggestions of rivalry with teammate Lamine Yamal, saying he would be happy to see the youngster win multiple Ballon d’Or awards.
Raphinha also expressed his ambition to win every available trophy with Barcelona, particularly the UEFA Champions League.
