Spanish football club Real Madrid have appointed tennis legend Rafael Nadal to their board of directors.
The club announced the appointment in a statement on Wednesday, describing the 40-year-old as one of the greatest legends in sporting history.
Nadal, who is an honorary member of Real Madrid, will now become part of the club’s board as it prepares for its UEFA Champions League clash with AEK.
His appointment comes months after the former tennis star dismissed reports linking him with a possible bid for the club’s presidency, describing the claims as untrue.
Nadal retired from professional tennis in 2024 after an illustrious career.
