The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has reduced its petrol pump price to N1,325 per litre at some of its retail outlets in Abuja and surrounding areas.

A market survey on Wednesday showed that the new price represents a reduction of between N45 and N80 from the previous rate of N1,370 to N1,405 per litre.

The adjustment was observed at NNPCL filling stations in Gwarimpa and along the Kubwa Expressway. A fuel attendant at one of the outlets confirmed that the price was reduced on Wednesday afternoon.

The development follows the recent reduction of the petrol gantry price by Dangote Refinery to N1,215 per litre, prompting expectations of a corresponding adjustment by filling stations across the country.

The latest reduction comes after reports that petrol retailers, including NNPCL outlets, were expected to lower their pump prices following the refinery’s price cut.
