The Nigerian military says seven precision air strikes conducted between October 10 and 18, 2026, have neutralised 103 terrorists and destroyed several logistics hubs and storage facilities across Borno and Adamawa states.
The Joint Task Force, North-East, Operation Hadin Kai, said the intelligence-led operations targeted Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) fighters, their leadership structures and logistics networks. The strikes involved Nigerian Army Aviation, the Nigerian Army Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Regiment and the Air Component.
According to the operation’s spokesperson, Captain Mohammed Goni, the strikes targeted locations around Gudumbali, Badu and Mairari in Borno State, as well as Duste Uku in Adamawa State.
Goni said a major operation on October 18 targeted the alternate residence of Abu Saleem, identified by the military as ISWAP’s Wali of South Lake Chad, in the Arina Woje area of Monguno Local Government Area, Borno State.
He said intelligence reports confirmed the deaths of Jindullah, reportedly Abu Saleem’s chief security guard, and Abul Kissa, a member of the group’s Shura Council, alongside other fighters. The strike also destroyed the structure, nine boat engines and several motorcycles.
The military further reported that an October 13 air strike on a gathering of more than 100 terrorists east of Badu resulted in the assessed neutralisation of about 30 fighters.
Goni said the operations were aimed at disrupting ISWAP’s command structures, logistics networks and safe havens. He added that Operation Hadin Kai would sustain its efforts to weaken insurgent capabilities and restore peace and security across the North-East.
