A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dele Momodu, has accused President Bola Tinubu of appointing Yoruba people into the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), alleging that the move could undermine the credibility of the 2027 general election.

Momodu made the allegation during an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Wednesday, expressing concerns about the possibility of a free and fair election.

He argued that the Yoruba electorate was politically conscious and that support for Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke was based on his performance rather than unconditional loyalty to any political figure.

Momodu also said Nigerians across the geopolitical zones were experiencing similar hardships under the Tinubu administration. He criticised the composition of the President’s cabinet, alleging that many of its members were his political associates.

The ADC chieftain maintained that political support in the South-West should not be taken for granted ahead of the 2027 elections.
