Two leaders of the Accord Party in Lagos State have urged Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke to clarify his political allegiance following reports that he has been appointed coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Osun State.
The leaders, Oke Sewedo and Oladeji Oluwatosin, made the appeal in an open letter addressed to Adeleke and the party’s national leadership under the platform of Concerned Leaders of Accord, Lagos State.
They expressed concern that Adeleke’s reported involvement in Tinubu’s campaign could undermine the electoral chances of Accord candidates contesting legislative positions in Osun and other parts of the country.
The leaders questioned how Adeleke, who won the Osun governorship election on the Accord platform, could coordinate the presidential campaign of a candidate from another party while Accord prepares for the 2027 general elections.
They urged the governor to reaffirm his commitment to Accord or publicly clarify whether his political allegiance had changed. They also called on the party’s national leadership to address the matter transparently and explain the implications of his reported appointment.
The letter further urged Accord to protect its candidates, strengthen its campaign structures and reassure members of its commitment to the party’s electoral prospects.
The leaders stressed that their appeal was not intended to create political hostility but to protect Accord’s unity, credibility and future ahead of the 2027 elections.
