Troops Rescue Two Abducted Victims in Zamfara

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued two people abducted by terrorists along the Anka–Gadan Manya Road in Anka Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

The victims were rescued after troops on routine patrol responded to an attack on two motorcycle travellers on September 4, 2026. The troops’ intervention forced the terrorists to flee, leaving the victims behind.

The military said patrols and security operations have since been intensified in the area to restrict the movement of terrorists, protect residents and road users, and prevent further attacks and abductions.
