Resident doctors at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have entered the 32nd day of their industrial action over unresolved welfare issues.

The Association of Resident Doctors said the strike is over the implementation of the Professional Allowance Table, payment of outstanding Medical Residency Training Fund and six months’ Minimum Wage arrears.

The doctors appealed to the Oyo State Government to resolve the issues, warning that the continued loss of skilled medical personnel could affect specialised healthcare services and residency training at the hospital.

The association said it remained committed to dialogue with the government and expressed optimism that the outstanding issues would be resolved.
