The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed, has urged frontline marshals to uphold discipline, integrity, fairness and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Mohammed gave the charge during a two-day capacity-building programme for frontline marshals of the RS10 Sokoto Sector Command.
Represented by the Zonal Corps Marshal, ACM Fredrick Ogidan, he said the training was aimed at strengthening the competence and operational effectiveness of personnel.
He described frontline marshals as the most visible representatives of the FRSC, noting that their conduct and interaction with motorists could influence public perception of the agency.
Mohammed urged the personnel to apply emotional intelligence and fairness when enforcing traffic regulations, stressing that enforcement should be professional, measured and respectful.
He also reminded marshals that their uniform represents the authority of government and should be worn and exercised responsibly.
The Sokoto Sector Commander, Adamu Argungu, said continuous training was necessary to prepare personnel for emerging road safety challenges, including increased traffic, distracted driving, vehicle overloading and poor road infrastructure.
