The North-East Development Commission has commenced a strategic summit in Maiduguri, Borno State, aimed at strengthening collaboration and improving service delivery across the region.
The 2026 Excellence Forum brought together staff from the six North-East states of Borno, Adamawa, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe and Taraba.
The Managing Director of the NEDC, Mohammed Goni, said the forum would focus on quality, accountability, integrity, problem-solving and improved service delivery.
Goni said the commission’s success would ultimately be measured by the quality of development delivered to people across the North-East.
He noted that the NEDC’s development projects, including roads, schools, healthcare facilities, water and livelihood programmes, depended on strong internal systems and capable personnel.
According to him, the commission’s goal is to ensure that its standards become part of its daily operations and lead to better outcomes for residents of the region.
