Octogenarian Killed in Ebonyi, Police Begin Probe

An 80-year-old man, Amos Onwe Ubochi, has been killed in Osege village, Umuogodo Oshia Ngbo community, Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Ubochi was reportedly returning home after attending a prayer session for All Progressives Grand Alliance candidates when he was attacked.

His body was later found along a bush path and taken to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, where he was confirmed dead.

The Ebonyi State Police Command said it has launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and identify those responsible.

Police spokesperson, SP Joshua Ukandu, urged anyone with useful information to assist the investigation by coming forward.

The APGA House of Representatives candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency, Tochukwu Ogalagu, condemned the killing and called for calm among supporters.
