President Bola Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with the President of Madagascar, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Malagasy leader arrived at the State House in the afternoon and was formally received by senior government officials before proceeding to a private meeting with the Nigerian President.

The visit marks Randrianirina’s first official trip to Nigeria since assuming office in October 2025.

The high-level engagement is expected to strengthen diplomatic ties between both countries and deepen cooperation on issues of mutual interest.

Discussions are believed to focus on areas such as regional security, agricultural development, economic collaboration, and climate change challenges affecting parts of the African continent.

The meeting underscores the growing efforts by both nations to enhance bilateral relations and explore opportunities for greater partnership in key sectors.
