Seyi Makinde may formally declare his presidential ambition during the “Unity Mega Rally Ibadan 2026” scheduled to hold on Thursday at Mapo Hall.
The rally is expected to mark the official launch of Makinde’s anticipated 2027 presidential campaign, alongside the unveiling of a political alliance involving the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples Movement in Oyo State.
The governor is also expected to present aspirants contesting for various state and national elective positions on the platform of the APM ahead of the 2027 elections.
Among those reportedly expected to be unveiled are former Oyo State Commissioner for Finance, Bimbo Adekanmbi, as governorship candidate, alongside Stanley Olajide, Olufemi Ajadi, and Shina Peller as senatorial candidates.
House of Representatives and House of Assembly aspirants are also expected to be presented during the rally.
Reports indicate that preparations have intensified ahead of the event, with political leaders and supporters from different camps expected to arrive in Ibadan before the gathering.
The rally is also expected to attract youth groups, political stakeholders, community leaders, and supporters from across the country who align with Makinde’s political vision and leadership style.
Although the governor has yet to officially confirm his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, support groups and loyalists have continued to urge him to join the race as consultations and political realignments gather momentum.
