An Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has dismissed a suit challenging the selection and appointment of Oba Francis Olushola Alao as the Olugbon of Orile Igbon.

Justice K.A. Adedokun struck out the suit on Monday for lack of jurisdiction.

The suit was filed by four members of the Akingbola family, who contested the process leading to Oba Alao’s emergence.

In his ruling, Justice Adedokun held that the court lacked the jurisdiction to entrtain the suit because the claimants lacked the locus standi to institute the case and for not suing Surulere Local Government, who is empowered with the authority to commence the selection process and approve Olugbon’s appointment.
