The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has uncovered 3,000 Nigerian fake graduates.

JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede made this announcement in a meeting with the delegation of the Committee of Pro-Chancellors of State Universities in Nigeria, COPSUN, in Abuja.

In the details of the meeting published in the board’s bulletin, Oloyede also condemned the illegal admissions practice in some universities across the country.

He said that the board has documented over 3000 some graduates who had never entered the four walls of a university owing to the endemic corruption in the system.

The JAMB registrar said Illegal admission of candidates into tertiary institutions is an embarrassment and a disservice to the nation.

The examination body had earlier warned candidates to refrain from accepting admissions offered without full academic participation.
