ARMY ARRESTS 3 SUSPECTS OF DELTA KILLINGS

Following the statement made by the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, that those responsible for the killing of the military personnel, would be brought to justice, three of the suspects who killed 17 officers and men of 181 Amphibious Battalion, Nigerian Army, Otuama, Delta State, have been arrested.

The suspects were reportedly  arrested in PortHarcourt and moved to Army headquarters, Asaba, where they are currently being held.

It will be recalled that last week, 16 military personnel, including four officers and soldiers were killed in an ambush while on response mission to okuoma in the Delta state where communal fighting occurred.

The soldiers were reportedly surrounded and killed by youngsters in Bomadi Local Government area okuoma, according to Defence Headquarters spokesman Brig, Gen. Tukur Gusau.

 This  led to a reprisal attack and consequent burning of houses by the military.
