DHQ Debunks Viral Video of CDS Endorsing Politics

The Defence Headquarters has dismissed as fake a viral video purportedly showing the Chief of Defence Staff, General Olufemi Oluyede, endorsing partisan politics.

In a statement on Thursday, the DHQ said the video did not originate from the CDS and that the statements attributed to him were false.

The military said the video was created using artificial intelligence to mislead the public and misrepresent the position of the Chief of Defence Staff.

The DHQ reaffirmed that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remains a professional, apolitical and non-partisan institution committed to the Constitution and the defence of the nation.

It urged Nigerians to disregard the video and rely on information released through official military communication channels.
