Troops of the 8 Division Garrison of the Nigerian Army have rescued 14 kidnapped victims and recovered 281 livestock from bandits who attacked Horo Birni Village in Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
A security source told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that troops responded swiftly to distress calls on Tuesday, engaging the terrorists who were moving with the kidnapped victims and rustled livestock. The terrorists reportedly withdrew in disarray after sustaining gunshot wounds, abandoning both the victims and the stolen animals.
Troops recovered 195 cows, 84 sheep, two camels, and two motorcycles during the operation. The source commended the teamwork and synergy among agencies involved, noting that troops remain battle-ready to tackle criminality but require sustained community support and vigilance.
