PFN Vows to Continue Preaching in Commercial Buses Despite Proposed Fine

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria has vowed to continue preaching in commercial buses despite a proposed N50,000 fine for public preaching inside vehicles.

PFN President, Bishop Wale Oke, said Christians would resist any attempt to stop them from evangelising in buses.

Oke stated this on Wednesday during an appearance on Channels Television’s The Morning Brief, while reacting to the Federal Road Safety Corps (Amendment) Bill, 2026.

The proposed bill seeks to impose a N50,000 fine on anyone convicted of hawking, trading or preaching inside commercial vehicles.

Oke argued that restricting public preaching would violate Christians’ constitutional right to practise and propagate their faith.

He maintained that Christians would continue preaching despite any attempt to enforce the proposed restriction.
