APC Begins Campaign for Ebonyi LG Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi State has commenced its campaign for the August 22 local government elections.

The campaign kicked off in Ikwo Local Government Area on Monday, with the party targeting victory across the state’s 13 local government areas and 171 wards.

Governor Francis Nwifuru, represented by his deputy, Patricia Obila, presented the party’s flag to its Ikwo chairmanship candidate, Chidi Nwode.

Nwifuru urged party members to unite behind the candidates and conduct issue-based campaigns, while calling for efforts to mobilise eligible voters ahead of the election.

He also urged supporters to avoid actions capable of disrupting the peaceful conduct of the polls.

Former Ebonyi Governor, Martin Elechi, appealed to political actors to avoid violence, intimidation and rancour during the campaign.

The Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Moses Odunwa, also urged residents to maintain peace and participate actively in the electoral process.

The member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Chinedu Ogah, called on eligible voters to obtain and safeguard their Permanent Voter Cards, assuring them that every vote would count.

The APC State Chairman, Stanley Emegha, thanked Ikwo residents for their support for the party.
