The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Adesoji Adedeji as its governorship and deputy governorship candidates, respectively, for the 2027 Oyo State governorship election.
The unveiling ceremony was held in Ibadan and attended by party leaders, stakeholders and members from across the state.
Alli emerged as the party’s governorship candidate after defeating other aspirants in the APC primary election, including former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; former Deputy Governor, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan; Barrister Akeem Agbaje; and Engr. Oyedele Alao.
Speaking at the event, Alli described his emergence as a victory for the entire APC family in Oyo State. He called on party members, including those who contested the primary, to unite and work together ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
He said the focus should now shift to rebuilding and repositioning Oyo State, stressing that achieving the party’s goal would require unity, sacrifice and collective commitment.
The APC governorship candidate also expressed appreciation to party leaders, members and supporters for their confidence and support throughout the primary process.
Also speaking, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Moses Alake-Adeyemo, appealed to aggrieved members to put aside their differences and work for the success of the party in the 2027 general elections.
He said a united APC stands a better chance of returning to power in the state and delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.
The party’s Deputy National Auditor, Hon. Olayemi Olugbenga, formally presented the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination forms to Alli and his running mate, Adedeji, marking their official emergence as the APC candidates for the governorship election.
