President Bola Tinubu has congratulated former FirstBank Group Chief Executive Officer, Dr Adesola Kazeem Adeduntan, on his installation as the Balogun of Oyo.
Adeduntan is scheduled to be formally installed on Saturday by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Akeem Owoade I.
In a congratulatory message, Tinubu described the traditional title as both an honour and a call to greater service to the Oyo Kingdom and its people.
The President urged Adeduntan to bring his experience, discipline and strategic leadership to his new role, while contributing to peace, development and the preservation of Oyo’s cultural heritage.
Tinubu also commended Adeduntan’s career in banking and finance, which culminated in his leadership of FirstBank, as well as his contributions to national development through education, healthcare and philanthropy.
He specifically highlighted Adeduntan’s service as Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Abiola Ajimobi Technical University and the activities of the Adesola Adeduntan Foundation in supporting primary healthcare in Oyo and Ibadan.
The President also acknowledged Adeduntan’s investments in Nigeria’s solid minerals sector.
Tinubu wished the new Balogun of Oyo success in his traditional responsibilities and expressed confidence that he would use his experience and resources to support the Alaafin, the Oyo Kingdom and its people.
