Wizkid Becomes First African Artist To Hit 11 Billion Spotify Streams

Nigerian Afrobeats star Wizkid has become the first African artist to surpass 11 billion streams on Spotify across all credits.

The achievement was announced on Tuesday by music statistics platform ChartsAfrica, which highlighted the singer’s dominance on the streaming platform.

According to the report, Wizkid remains the first African artist to reach the 1 billion, 2 billion, 10 billion and now 11 billion Spotify streams milestones.

The milestone comes shortly after the release of his collaboration with DJ Tunez titled State of Mind, which was released on May 15, 2026.

The song reportedly recorded more than 685,000 global Spotify streams within its first full day.

Fans and music lovers have continued to celebrate the achievement on social media, describing Wizkid’s accomplishment as a major moment for Afrobeats on the global stage.

Wizkid, popularly known as Big Wiz, had earlier become the first African artist to surpass 10 billion Spotify streams in January 2026.
