President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared that he will seek a second term in office, insisting that rising insecurity in parts of the country will not force him out of power.
He made this known while receiving Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang alongside other stakeholders from Plateau State, during a meeting that also addressed the security situation and national concerns.
The President expressed concern over what he described as attempts by some individuals to use the country’s security challenges against his administration. He noted that such actions could unintentionally support the agenda of political opponents and other hostile elements.
According to him, narratives that politicize insecurity risk undermining the efforts of security agencies and weakening public confidence at a time when coordinated action is needed.
“You are playing to the hand of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” Tinubu said.
He reiterated that his administration remains committed to tackling insecurity across Nigeria, adding that strategies are continuously being reviewed and strengthened to address evolving threats.
Tinubu maintained that he will not be distracted from his mandate, stressing that overcoming the country’s challenges requires cooperation, unity, and sustained effort from all stakeholders.
