The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has decorated 35 newly promoted senior officers in a move aimed at strengthening the state’s security architecture.
The decoration ceremony, which took place at the command’s headquarters, saw 30 Superintendents of Police (SPs) elevated to the rank of Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), while five Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) were promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP).
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, CP Jimoh described the promotions as a demonstration of the Inspector-General of Police’s commitment to professionalism, motivation, and rewarding excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
“The exercise underscores the fact that hard work, dedication, and discipline are recognised and duly rewarded. It should also serve as motivation for improved performance,” the commissioner said.
On behalf of officers and men of the Lagos State Command, CP Jimoh expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for his confidence in the newly promoted officers.
He noted that the promotion exercise would boost morale, enhance operational efficiency, and improve service delivery across the command.
The commissioner reminded the officers that their new ranks come with higher expectations from both the Police Force and the public.
“A higher rank carries increased responsibility and accountability. You must demonstrate greater diligence, discipline, and professionalism in the discharge of your duties,” he said.
CP Jimoh congratulated the officers and their families, expressing confidence that the promotions would translate into improved safety and security for residents of Lagos State.
“I am confident that you will continue to contribute meaningfully to the protection of lives and property in Lagos State,” he added.
