Afrobeats superstar Davido will headline the official opening concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), set to take place in Rabat, Morocco.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone, one day before the tournament officially kicks off. It will feature an international lineup of artists, including global hip-hop star French Montana, Moroccan singer Douaa Lahyaoui, French-Moroccan hitmaker Lartiste, and rising artist Says’z.
According to the Confederation of African Football (CAF), the diverse lineup reflects AFCON’s commitment to celebrating African culture, music, and its growing global influence. The event is expected to bring together football fans and music lovers in a vibrant showcase ahead of the continent’s biggest football competition.
Attendance at the concert will be open to fans with valid Fan IDs and match tickets.
Davido, one of Africa’s most recognisable music exports, is no stranger to major global sporting events. He has previously performed at the opening ceremony of AFCON 2017, the 2022 FIFA World Cup draw in Doha, and the 2023 Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA) Awards.
The 2025 AFCON tournament will officially begin on Saturday with the opening match between hosts Morocco and Comoros at the Stade Prince Moulay Abdallah in Rabat.
The opening concert is expected to set the tone for what organisers describe as an unforgettable AFCON experience in Morocco.
