Social media critic Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman, and comedian Freedom Atsepoyi, also known as Mr Jollof, may be facing sanctions from the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) after a video showing the pair exchanging blows aboard an aircraft went viral on Monday.
The altercation reportedly stems from a long-running feud between the two, which escalated months ago when Verydarkman accused Mr Jollof’s wife of being involved with internet fraudsters—an allegation that ignited a heated public exchange.
With the latest confrontation occurring mid-flight, aviation authorities are now seeking full details of the incident. NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, reacting to one of the circulating video clips on X, requested information that would aid the agency’s investigation.
“If you are kind enough to provide the name of the airline in whose aircraft this incident occurred, and the date, it would help investigations,” Achimugu wrote.
Should the pair be found culpable of violating aviation safety and conduct regulations, they could face serious penalties, including fines or flight bans.
