The Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan has again adjourned the hearing of a motion on notice in the suit filed by Folahan Adelabi against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), its Acting National Chairman, and others until Wednesday.

Presiding judge, Justice Ladiran Akintola, had earlier ruled on an ex parte motion last week, permitting the PDP to go ahead with its planned national convention while fixing Monday, November 10, 2025, for the hearing of the substantive motion.

In the suit, the claimant is seeking an order restraining the defendants — including Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State (representing the National Convention Organising Committee), and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) — from taking any action that could disrupt or frustrate the scheduled national convention of the party.

At Monday’s sitting, Justice Akintola directed all parties to ensure that every necessary process and document is properly filed to enable the case proceed effectively. He also instructed the PDP leadership to strictly comply with the guidelines, timetable, and schedule of activities already issued for the convention.

The court subsequently adjourned the matter to Wednesday to consider all pending applications.

Meanwhile, journalists were prevented from covering the proceedings as security operatives restricted access to the courtroom, allowing only parties and their legal representatives to enter.
