The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, has unveiled his seven-pillar ‘Oyo Ahead’ Agenda, outlining his vision and priorities ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

Alli presented the manifesto on Tuesday, where he identified the key areas of his proposed administration as local government autonomy, infrastructure development, healthcare, education and human capital development, economy and investment, agriculture and solid minerals, as well as security.

The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District said the agenda was designed to address the needs of residents and ensure that the dividends of democracy reach every part of the state, including grassroots communities and market women.

Speaking on his economic vision, Alli said Oyo State had the potential to become a major agricultural and industrial hub capable of supplying food to other parts of the Southwest and exporting products internationally.

He pledged to attract factories and investments to the state, noting that industrial development would create employment opportunities, increase household income and boost government revenue for the provision of essential services such as schools and healthcare facilities.

Alli also stressed the need for a government whose impact would be visible in the daily lives of residents, particularly through improved market facilities, availability of drugs in public health centres and adequate teachers in schools.

He noted that many residents were struggling to meet basic needs, including feeding their families, paying school fees and settling rent, adding that his administration would prioritise policies that improve living conditions and support economic activities at the grassroots.

The event was attended by former deputy governors of Oyo State, APC leaders, political stakeholders and other party faithful.
