Tinubu Orders Probe into Killing of Islamic Cleric, Friend in Katsina

President Bola Tinubu has condemned the killing of prominent Islamic preacher Sheikh Yahaya Ibrahim Masussuka and his friend, Adamu Abubakar, in Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, directing security agencies to arrest and prosecute those responsible.

The duo were reportedly killed in a drive-by shooting by gunmen on Monday evening.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described the killings as heinous and an attack on the values of peace and the sanctity of human life.

Tinubu expressed sadness over the incident and extended his condolences to the families of the deceased, the cleric’s followers, and the government and people of Katsina State.

He directed the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to intensify ongoing efforts by the Katsina State Police Command to track down and apprehend the suspects.

The President also called for a thorough investigation to ensure that those responsible for the killings are brought to justice.
