The All Progressives Congress (APC) has included Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke and Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo in President Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the January 16, 2027 presidential election.
Wike, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), will coordinate the campaign in Rivers State and the FCT, while Adeleke, who belongs to the Accord Party, will coordinate in Osun State. Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has been appointed coordinator for Anambra State.
The appointments form part of an expanded campaign structure designed to bring together supporters across party lines. The revised council also retained Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General, with former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole serving as Deputy Director-General for Mobilisation and FCT Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila as Deputy Director-General for Administration.
Speaking on his appointment, Wike said the arrangement was intended to accommodate individuals outside the APC who were willing to support Tinubu’s re-election. He maintained that the coalition, which he described as the Rainbow Coalition, would bring together APC members and supporters of the president from other political parties.
Wike dismissed concerns that the alliance could create divisions within the ruling party, insisting that the APC would remain Tinubu’s political platform while supporters from other parties could contribute to his campaign.
He also explained that Rivers State required a particular leadership arrangement because of its political circumstances, adding that Governor Siminalayi Fubara would participate in the campaign despite Wike’s appointment as state coordinator.
The expanded campaign council includes APC governors as coordinators in their respective states, alongside other party officials, ministers and political figures assigned mobilisation, fundraising, communications and administrative responsibilities.
