The Chief of Staff to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, Segun Ebenezer Ogunwuyi, has resigned from his position with effect from Monday, October 12, 2026.

Ogunwuyi announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the governor, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve the state and describing his time in the administration as an honour.

He said he was proud of the administration’s efforts to promote the growth and development of Oyo State, while expressing confidence in the state’s continued progress.

The former chief of staff also thanked Makinde for the opportunity to contribute to the government’s work and reaffirmed his commitment to Oyo State and Nigeria.

His resignation comes amid the departure of several political appointees from Makinde’s administration in recent months. However, Ogunwuyi did not disclose any reason for his decision.
