President Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have celebrated Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, on his 70th birthday, praising his contributions to journalism, public service and governance.
Tinubu described Alake as a “journalist of conscience” who stood against military dictatorship and human rights abuses during Nigeria’s years of military rule. He also praised his service as Lagos Commissioner for Information and Strategy and his current role as Minister of Solid Minerals Development.
The President described Alake as a close confidant, brother and loyal ally, while Sanwo-Olu hailed him as a respected journalist, communication strategist and administrator whose contributions have impacted Lagos State and Nigeria. Both leaders wished him good health and many more years of service.
