NAFDAC Seizes N300m Banned Alcoholic Drinks in Lagos

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has seized alcoholic beverages worth about N300 million packaged in sachets and PET bottles below 200ml during enforcement operations in Lagos State.

NAFDAC said the operation was carried out at Ile-Epo Market, Ojuwoye Market in Mushin and Oke-Arin Market on Lagos Island. Some distributors and retailers were arrested during the exercise.

The agency said the products were being hoarded amid rising demand and prices, warning traders against the sale, distribution or hoarding of the prohibited alcoholic beverages.

NAFDAC reiterated that the ban on alcoholic drinks packaged in sachets and PET bottles below 200ml remains in force.
