Tinubu Congratulates NCMM DG on TIME100 Art Recognition

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Director-General of the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Olugbile Holloway, on his inclusion in the inaugural TIME100 Art list of the 100 most influential people shaping the future of art.

Tinubu said the recognition reflected Holloway’s efforts to recover Nigeria’s cultural treasures and strengthen the country’s cultural institutions. The commission has secured the return of 119 Benin Bronzes from the Netherlands and the legal transfer of 116 others from the University of Cambridge.

The President also commended the recent return of 18 Benin Bronzes and four Ikom monoliths from Switzerland, as well as the launch of Nigeria’s first digital museum of antiquities. He urged the commission to continue efforts to recover Nigeria’s cultural property and improve museums across the country.
