FG Expands Poverty Reduction Programme to Oyo

The Federal Government has expanded its National Poverty Reduction and Growth Strategy to Oyo State to equip young Nigerians with practical skills and promote entrepreneurship.

Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Dr Abiola Arogundade, said 200 trainees would be selected from Oyo as part of the initial phase covering the six geopolitical zones. The Oyo training will begin on September 28 and run for two weeks.

She said participants would be trained in graphics and artificial intelligence design, makeup and fashion designing, with each trainee receiving a starter kit after completing the programme. The initiative is aimed at reducing unemployment and supporting youth entrepreneurship.
