Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, says he bears no hatred or resentment towards former colleagues, friends and associates who have chosen not to support him during his current circumstances.
El-Rufai stated this in a message titled “My Relationships and the Aftermath” posted on his X handle.
He said he had supported people and causes over the years because of his personal values and convictions, rather than expecting praise or reciprocity.
The former governor said some of those he had supported were free to remain silent, distance themselves from him or respond differently to his current situation.
He added that his recent experiences had made him reflect on some of his relationships, but stressed that this should not be seen as condemnation.
El-Rufai said he had no regrets about supporting people when he believed it was right to do so and would not seek revenge or retribution over perceived injustice or ingratitude.
He said he would instead leave ultimate accountability to Almighty Allah and remain at peace with his conscience.
