The Nigeria Police Force says its operatives have killed a suspected bandit, rescued seven victims and arrested 17 suspects in operations across 10 states.
The operations, conducted between September 21 and 22, 2026, included anti-banditry, kidnapping and murder investigations.
In Benue State, police killed one suspected bandit and arrested two others during a response to an attack at Abeda Market in Logo Local Government Area.
In Katsina State, police foiled an attack on a vehicle carrying six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma along the Kankara-Dutsin-Ma Road. All seven occupants were rescued unhurt. Three suspected banditry suspects were also arrested in a separate operation.
In Anambra State, four suspected members of an outlawed terrorist group were arrested in Okija, while three suspects were arrested in connection with the death of a 34-year-old man in Ojoto.
The police also reported arrests linked to kidnapping in Nasarawa, illegal firearm possession in Delta, murder in Cross River and Oyo, and an alleged defilement case in Ogun.
The Force said investigations into the various cases are ongoing.
