Yari Urges Northerners to Support Tinubu in 2027

Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdul’aziz Yari, has urged Northerners to support President Bola Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.

Yari made the call on Monday during a visit to the palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Riliwanu Akiolu, in Lagos.

He said Tinubu deserved the support of the North because he backed former President Muhammadu Buhari’s 2019 presidential bid, despite pressure within the APC for him to contest.

Yari said Tinubu had supported the North in completing Buhari’s two-term tenure and urged Northerners to reciprocate by supporting his continuation in office.

He also said the campaign council believed Tinubu should be re-elected based on his performance and not only on the principle of power rotation.

The Oba of Lagos also expressed support for Tinubu, saying there was no vacancy in Aso Rock for the next four or five years.
