Peter Obi Urges UNN to Release His Academic Records

2027 presidential candidate Peter Obi has asked the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to release his academic records following reports of legal action seeking certified copies of his university certificates and admission records.

Obi said he had no objection to the release of his Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, which he said was awarded by the university in 1984, as well as other records relating to his admission and studies.

He urged the university to make his academic certificates and official records available upon legitimate request and within the limits permitted by law.

Obi said he welcomed public scrutiny of his qualifications and background, describing transparency and accountability as important for anyone seeking public office.

He also called on other presidential candidates to make their educational qualifications and relevant records available for legitimate public scrutiny.

Obi said such scrutiny should be conducted fairly and lawfully, adding that openness would help strengthen public confidence and accountability.
