Arteta ‘Very Surprised’ by Gabriel Jesus’ Barcelona Exit Claims

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta says he was “very surprised” by Gabriel Jesus’ claim that he was made to train separately and was not informed about the circumstances surrounding his move to Barcelona.

Jesus ended his four-year spell with Arsenal in September and said he was disappointed with how his departure was handled. He claimed that he was suddenly asked to train away from the team and that nobody informed him about what was happening before his move.

Arteta, however, said he had spoken privately with Jesus about the transfer and that they parted on good terms.

The Arsenal manager said their final conversation focused on gratitude, adding that he hoped the positive relationship between the club and its former players would continue.

Jesus joined Arsenal after leaving Manchester City and spent four years with the Gunners before completing his move to Barcelona.
