The Osun State Governorship Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied reports that the party and its candidate in the August 15, 2026 governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, filed a petition challenging Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election.

In a statement on Tuesday, the council’s Head of Media and Publicity, Remi Omowaiye, described the reports as false and misleading.

The clarification followed a petition reportedly filed at the Osun State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo by a legal practitioner, Oluseyi Oyagbile.

Oyagbile had claimed that he received instructions from Oyebamiji’s running mate, Kayode Adereti, to submit the petition.

However, the APC Campaign Council maintained that neither the party nor Oyebamiji authorised or filed any petition challenging the election result.

The council urged the public and the media to disregard the claim and rely on official statements from the APC and its campaign council regarding the election.

The August 15 governorship election was won by incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke.
